Tenchi Security brings in Google and Apple alum to lead product development
After an investment of R$ 18 million, led by Maya Capital, Tenchi Security, a startup specialized in cloud environment security, begins its plan to increase its technology team to accelerate growth. Eduardo Pinheiro, an executive who was at Apple and has 12 years of experience working at Google, in the United States, joins the company to lead the entire team of developers.
At the age of 47, Pinheiro graduated in Computer Engineering at PUC-RJ, did a Masters in Computer Science at UFRJ, and then went to the United States, where he did his doctorate at Rutgers University. In 2005, he was hired to join Google, which at the time was growing fast. There, he participated in projects such as Gmail, an initiative to curb the practice of phishing on the Internet (tactic of creating fake websites to steal user data) and the development of a control system to monitor the operation of machines in data centers.
More recently, he has been working at Apple, in the area of software engineering that deals with the organization’s data storage. “I am very excited to start this new journey with Tenchi, as I will be able to unite my two passions, technology and entrepreneurship”, says the engineer, who will continue to live in Sunnyvale, California, as the company is remote first and its team can work from anywhere in the world.
Under Pinheiro’s command will be the entire engineering area of Tenchi Security, which should grow 5 times in the next twelve months. “We are looking for people with energy, integrity and autonomy, interested in always learning more”, says the executive.
“Our great challenge at this time of strong growth will certainly be attracting talent in the technology area”, says Alexandre Sieira, CTO of Tenchi Security. “I am sure that Eduardo Pinheiro is the right person to lead this mission and help us deliver a very high quality product to compete globally.”
